Go with the flow

Well, nothing is sure in life but death and taxes. This includes one's plans for their next assignment. So, NYC is a bust. But, not completely. The preference has only been postponed until this fall. Which works for me, because that would mean being there in November, and short of re-celebrating the B-day in Chicago again, I can't think of a better place than the Big Apple!
Ok, once again...I digress. So, as of now...unofficially right this minute (because nothing's on paper yet), I am heading for Urbana-Champaine, Illinois. The decision was tough, because there was another offer in Barrington, Illinois. Which is a subburb of my beloved Chicago. But, Urbana seemed to have it a little bit better, so, off I go.

This is my friend Sumei who I met in Maryland. (But this pic was taken in San Francisco) She absolutely forbid me from posting a picture of her on my blog.....

So, of course, I did it as soon as I could! But, in my defense, I used a picture she herself posted on her myspace.com site!

I did this a) to give her a hard time and 2) to see how long it would take before she notices!

Sumei has only recently discovered my little blog here. She immediately (ok, well, maybe not immediately) put the address in her favorites. Her reason? "Sometimes I wonder what's going on in that mind of yours. Now I'll know".

So, here you are. My friend Sumei. We're headed for the East coast this summer. NYC here we come!
